BIO

Ed is a watercolourist although more recently he’s been trying his hand at acrylics. He’s taken workshops with many well known artists including Jack Reid, Bryan Atyeo, Steve Rose, Art Cunanen, Doug Mays, Wilf McOstrich and Rex Beanland.

Ed is a member of the following art societies: The Toronto Watercolour Society (Elected Member), The Colour and Form Society (Elected Member), Neilson Park Creative Centre, Humber Valley Art Club, Mississauga Watercolour Society, Headwaters Arts, Visual Arts Mississauga, Central Ontario Art Association, Arts Morin Heights (Elected Member), Arts et Culture Lac des Seize Isle, Arts et Culture Montfort, and an Associate Member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour and exhibits in the art shows of all these societies, many of them juried shows, and has won several awards.

Ed loves the outdoors and is an avid cross skier, hiker and canoeist and many of his paintings are inspired by scenes from these activities. In particular, he is fascinated with snow. He grew up in Quebec where the snow fell in late November and covered the ground until the end end of March. When skiing, everything is peaceful and graceful and you’re at one with nature. Hiking in the bright autumn colours, skiing past a stream coming out of the woods or just gliding across a still lake at dusk are things that turn him on.
